Pay: $21/hr
Shift: 1st/2nd

Position Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving will manage and focus on executing receiving shipping and export compliance initiatives policies and programs while developing and maintaining department production goals. This person will also assist occasaionlly with local shipments driving a flatbed or pickup truck.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in local shipments driving a flatbed or pick up truck
- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Compares identifying information and counts weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading invoices orders or other records both Domestic and International.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
- Places items into containers
- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Stamps stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments rejects damaged items records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Operates forklift or uses handtruck to move convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Reads shipping order to determine quantity.
- Performs clerical tasks including input into the computer.
- Unpacks incoming shipments.
- Counts articles in shipment.
- Examines shipments for defects and shortages.
- Attaches identification data onto article.
- Compare information on requisitions invoices and packing lists to material received or issued to verify accuracy of order.
- Observes loading of conveyance to determine conformance to loading patterns and prevent shifting or damage to materials of products during transit.
- Verifies materials loaded or unloaded against the bill of lading.
- Saws materials to size.
- Assembles materials.
- Bolts heavy pieces to bottom of container or skid.
- Wraps and pads product with excelsior paper or other packing material.
- Nails cover on crate.
- Wraps and tightens meal bands around crate.
- Repairs broken crates.
- Counts items to be packed to ensure compliance with shipping orders
- Moves container to shipping area and moves lumber paper and other wrapping supplies to crating area
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety rules policies and laws
- Other duties as assigned by supervision
Requirements:
- Clean Class C License
- Forklift certification
- Ability to lift a maximum of 35 pounds
- Knowledge of ITAR EAR CBP regulations
- The ability to read and write English.
- Intermediate knowledge of shipping processes & equipment
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft suite)
- Work in a team environment i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
