Senior Software Engineer, Developer Productivity, Sensing & Connectivity

Our team builds the foundational systems that engineers across Apple rely on to build integrate and ship software an integration system that gives developers the power to manage changes across a wide range of release trains and hardware platforms. This role gives you the opportunity to own and define strategy not just execute against someone elses roadmap: how we increase engineering velocity reduce manual effort and raise the bar on quality across every team that depends on us.

We are looking for someone who can handle ambiguity and shifting priorities well and treat change as a chance to add structure rather than a working regularly with engineers across many different real satisfaction in knowing the tools you build are critical to how engineering teams ship software to always looking for smarter more effective ways to solve problems.

Lead the design development and implementation of tools systems and processes that accelerate engineering velocity reduce manual effort and improve the quality of what teams modern AI tooling to rethink how our own team and the teams we serve can work at a fundamentally higher level of productivity not just automate around the closely with client team integration leads to understand their workflows constraints and pain points and make sure what we build actually addresses pipelines current with the latest central build and integration processes across every Apple OS release train and root-cause failures in distributed networked build environments that dont have obvious and advise the teams we serve on best practices for observable reliable scalable ownership of the reliability of what we build including rotating on-call responsibility for critical incidents.

You demonstrate an understanding of distributed systems asynchronous behaviors in pipeline design CI/CD systems and build demonstrate ability to write and debug software systems in scripting languages such as Ruby Python zsh or have a solid understanding of git capabilities including branching merging rebasing and resolving can verbally communicate and document technical issues and solutions experienced in the planning design implementation integration test and maintenance phases of software development with a solid understanding of developer use AI-assisted tools to write debug and ship code effectively and can speak to how theyve changed your have a BS or MS in CS EE or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

You have experience gathering requirements and aligning roadmaps directly with stakeholders across multiple handled complex build and integration projects across different product lines under tight have an understanding of low-level git plumbing commands hooks and have broad experience in overall software system design and implementation.n(edited)
