Senior Software Engineer Backend Full Stack

As a Senior Software Engineer at Tanium you will build andmaintainbest-of-breed products as part of a nimble development team. You will specifically be a part of a team that isbuilding outa new service that manages all the certificates for our internal services.

This position follows the Companys hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum ofthree days per week: Addison TXorDurham NC.

Werelooking for someone with:

Education

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• CS Degree preferred

Experience

• Must be eligible to obtain the FedRAMP security clearance at a minimum
• Proficient with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude GitHub Copilot)
• 5 years industry experience
• Experience designing and building high-impact high-performance scalable observable and maintainable backend services and APIs
• Knowledge of at least one of Golang (preferred) Python Ruby Rust or Java
• Experience with React Javascript or typescript
• Experience with Kubernetes Docker Terraform and other infrastructure technology
• Experience with modern software engineering development and automation tools like git and Jenkins

Other

• Demonstrates sound judgment for balancing between rapid development long-term codemaintainabilityand supportability
• Believes in the power of and the need for writing automated tests as part of development
• Experienced debugger who can put out fires under pressure when things go wrong in production environments
• Has knowledge of a variety of modern software frameworks (server side & browser side) and the versatility to learn new tools

What youll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $191000 to $293000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location education skills training and experience.
