Job Summary

The Senior Payroll Specialist serves as the subject matter expert for complex multi-client multi-state payroll processing tax compliance and payroll software configurations within a professional employer organization (PEO). This role provides exceptional payroll service to clients develops payroll processes and procedures and accurately processes payrolls within a collaborative team environment. The Senior Payroll Specialist serves as the key point of contact for Continuum Advantage and Myriad Advisor Solutions employees and clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately and timely processes all assigned payrolls including benefit deductions garnishments direct deposit information tax deductions and employee set-ups. Researches and resolves discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with and stays current on federal state and local payroll wage and hour laws changes and best practices.
  • Manages relationships with third-party payroll service providers to ensure accurate data transfer and timely resolution of issues.
  • Optimizes and continuously improves efficiency of payroll systems and processes.
  • Establishes and maintains positive client working relationships; successfully contributes to high client retention rates. Provides support and training to clients and employees regarding payroll software and payroll needs.
  • Manages and troubleshoots end-to-end integration including benefit carrier connections and external payroll file feeds.
  • Proactively analyzes clients needs and provides appropriate recommendations.
  • Performs analysis of completed payroll and troubleshoots data inconsistencies identifies trends and potential issues and recommends solutions.
  • Successfully guides new clients through implementation or termination of contracts for payroll services.
  • Represents the team effectively; builds trust and credibility and promotes transparency.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all client and employee information.
  • Provides outstanding client service to engage clients.

Desired Qualifications (Knowledge and Skills)
  • Four-year college degree in business or accounting or equivalent education experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years processing large volume multi-state payrolls required
  • Experience with ADP and/or Paycor preferred
  • PEO/human resources outsourcing experience strongly preferred
  • Data entry experience and fact-checking experience
  • Proficient with Outlook and the Microsoft Office suite
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
