Pay: $150000.00 - $175000.00 per year

Job Description

• Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense and civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop and execute effective litigation strategies tailored to each client and case.
• Handle discovery depositions motion practice hearings mediations settlement negotiations and trial preparation.
• Represent clients in matters involving premises liability motor vehicle accidents professional malpractice construction litigation New York Labor Law municipal law and related defense matters.
• Analyze liability damages coverage and litigation risks and provide practical recommendations to clients.
• Draft pleadings motions briefs correspondence reports and other litigation documents.
• Communicate directly with clients insurers claims professionals opposing counsel and other stakeholders.
• Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and timely case reporting.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and legal professionals while exercising sound independent judgment.

Qualifications

• 8 years of directly relevant defense litigation experience.
• Active New York bar admission in good standing.
• At least 1 year of construction litigation and/or New York Labor Law experience.
• Experience managing litigation matters independently from inception through resolution.
• Strong legal research writing negotiation advocacy and communication skills.
• Experience handling depositions discovery motions hearings mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Excellent organization judgment attention to detail and client-service skills.
