Job Summary

DDC is seeking aSenior Linux Administratorto support a mission-critical federal financial systems environment running onenterprise Linux. This roleis responsible formaintainingand improving the performance security reliability and availability of Linux servers supportingOracle-based financial applications and databasesacross production and non-production environments. The Senior Linux Administrator will lead efforts in system hardening patching automation monitoring troubleshooting and backup/recovery and will provide technical support formigrating Linux-based systems from on-premises infrastructure to AWS including the use of Infrastructure as Code and modern automation practices.

*This position is contingent upon contract award.*

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex enterprise Linux environments withfocusonperformance stability security and automation.

  • Install configure andmaintainphysical and virtual Linux servers and operating systems.

  • Provide Linux administration support for Oracle Federal Financials environment database and mid-tier administration to ensureconfidentiality integrity and availability(targeting99.5% availability).

  • Performpatch management vulnerability management baseline configuration and OS hardening.

  • Monitor systems forperformance and availability respond to alerts/outages and supporttroubleshooting toresolution.

  • Develop andmaintainautomation usingscripts (Bash/Python/Perl)and tools such asAnsible/Puppet/Chef.

  • Supportbackup/recovery and storage managementfor Linux OS environments (instance creation/modification as needed).

  • SupportAWS migrationof Linux-based systems from on-prem to AWS.

  • Support configuration/deployment of AWScompute storage and networking services.

  • Design and implementInfrastructure as Code (IaC)to automate provisioning/configuration of AWS infrastructure; implement automation pipelines for deployment/updates.

  • Coordinate with development/application teams to supportCI/CD pipelines deployments and integrations.

  • Maintain documentation of processes/configurations andassistin documenting undocumented processes.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Senior-level experience administeringenterprise Linuxenvironments (physical and virtual).(Minimum 10 years of experience.)
  • Strong experience withautomation and configuration management(e.g. Ansible Puppet Chef) and scripting (Bash Python etc.).
  • Experience supportingcloud migration to AWSand working with AWS infrastructure services.
  • Experience withmonitoring capacity planning troubleshooting patching and security hardening in regulated environments.
  • Ability to support environments subject to federal security requirements (e.g. NIST/FIPS-aligned practices) andparticipatein audit/security support activities as needed.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills; able to work with government and contractor teams in a hybrid environment.
  • Education Level:Bachelors degree in Information Systems Business Administration Program Management Finance Computer Science or related field preferred. Masters degree preferred. Equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Clearance Requirements:Must be able to obtain andmaintainSBA suitability/Public Trust PIV access and access to SBA systems as.
  • Certification Requirements:AWS certificationsare preferred but not mandatory
  • Travel will be required to Washington DC as needed.
