Role Overview:
The Corporate Accounting Manager supports Amazons global accounting operations through financial reporting technical accounting research and cross-functional collaboration. This role may support corporate reporting functions and partner with cross-functional partners (Legal tax and technology team) and accounting business teams across AWS digital store payments advertising and international operations.

This role requires risk assessment control considerations and process improvement within a complex high-growth environment. The scope may include areas corporate reporting such as cash flow reporting or foreign exchange accounting depending on team needs. This role requires the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment while partnering effectively across teams.


Key job responsibilities
- Perform and/or manage monthly quarterly and annual close activities including reconciliations journal entries and financial statement preparation
- Support the preparation review and cash flow statement and its deliverables
- Conduct US GAAP research and provide proactive guidance on accounting matters; prepare position papers and document support for accounting conclusions
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders including finance legal tax treasury technology and statutory accounting teams to understand business initiatives and assess foreign exchange accounting implications
- Identify and implement process improvement and automation opportunities; drive impactful global projects that enhance efficiency accuracy and scalability
- Assess risks evaluate internal control considerations and escalate issues to leadership with appropriate context and recommendations

- 3 years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field

- 2 years of Fortune 500 operational accounting experience
- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
