Senior Database Administrator (OraclePostgreSQL Migration)

Koniag IT Systems LLC (KITS) a Koniag Government Services company is seeking experienced Senior Database Administrator (Oracle/PostgreSQL Migration) with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer in College Park MD. This position requires candidate to be onsite with possibility of future hybrid work selected candidate will support the administration sustainment analysis migration and modernization of large-scale Oracle database environments while assisting with the transition to PostgreSQL-based architectures supporting modern enterprise position requires both operational DBA experience and modernization expertise including legacy database analysis schema conversion migration planning performance tuning and support for enterprise application modernization efforts in classified Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:Administer and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments supporting mission-critical applicationsAnalyze existing database structures stored procedures triggers and operational workflowsSupport transition and sustainment activities for legacy application environmentsDesign and implement PostgreSQL database architectures for modernized applicationsAssist with Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration planning and executionDevelop database migration strategies scripts and validation proceduresPerform database performance tuning indexing and optimizationSupport backup recovery replication and disaster recovery planningCollaborate with software engineers architects DevSecOps personnel and infrastructure teamsSupport development test and production database environmentsAssist with CI/CD and automated deployment activities related to database changesCreate and maintain technical documentation and operational proceduresParticipate in Agile development and modernization activitiesRequired Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or related field or equivalent experience with High School Diploma7 years of database administration experienceStrong Oracle database administration experienceExperience with PostgreSQL administration and developmentExperience with Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migration activitiesExperience with SQL PL/SQL stored procedures triggers and performance tuningExperience supporting enterprise production systemsExperience with Windows-based server environmentsExperience with backup and recovery strategiesExperience with database security and access controlsExperience supporting Agile development teamsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsU.S. Citizenship requiredClearance Requirement:TS/SCI security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience supporting federal government classified environmentsExperience with enterprise application modernization projectsExperience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelinesExperience with database migration tools and automation frameworksExperience with large-scale document or records management systemsExperience with replication failover and high-availability database architectureDesired Technical Skills:Oracle 12c/19cPostgreSQLSQL / PL-SQLWindows ServerShell scriptingDatabase migration toolsGitHubCI/CD pipelinesDevSecOpsAgile / ScrumOur Equal Employment Opportunity PolicyThe company is an equal opportunity employer.
