Position Description
The Clearing is seeking a Senior Consultant to support a project in a high-security mission-critical environment. The Senior Consultant will operate onsite with Department of War stakeholders to ensure delivery excellence foster strong client relationships and contribute to measurable mission impact.
This specific project role combines project delivery training and user adoption business process improvement and stakeholder engagement to help clients successfully implement and sustain organizational and technology solutionsparticularly within SharePoint and Microsoft 365/DoD365 environments. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and facilitator who can manage client relationships develop and deliver effective training programs analyze and improve business processes and drive adoption of new tools and ways of working.
What Youll Do
Training & User Adoption (SharePoint & Microsoft 365 Solutions)
- Conduct user needs assessments to identify training gaps skill levels and adoption challenges.
- Develop comprehensive training plans including learning objectives delivery strategies timelines and evaluation methods.
- Partner with technical SMEs (e.g. SharePoint Developer Senior Data Analyst) to translate system functionality into clear accessible training content.
- Develop and deliver technical training including training plans PowerPoint presentations job aids and training guides to educate and support end users to drive the adoption and effective utilization of tools specifically DoD365 Microsoft tools
- Create high-quality training materials including job aids quick-reference guides SOPs facilitator guides slide decks and recorded demonstrations.
- Deliver virtual and in-person training sessions adapting instructional methods to diverse learner groups and technical proficiency levels.
- Support change management efforts by integrating training into broader adoption strategies communication plans and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously refine materials based on user feedback analytics and evolving mission needs.
Business Process Improvement
- Analyze and make recommendations for business processes to improve efficiency effectiveness training and user adoption
- Design and implement strategies to support the adoption of new processes tools and ways of working
- Develop and manage stakeholder engagement approaches communications and training strategies to enable sustained customer use
- Identify risks to adoption and recommend mitigation strategies
Project & Client Delivery
- Lead and manage small to medium-sized project lanes/deliverables with guidance and direction from the Project Leader
- Serve as a point of contact for clients ensuring strong communication responsiveness and satisfaction
- Ensure quality of work; manage client expectations deliverables timelines and issue resolution in a fast-paced high-security environment
- Facilitate client meetings and working sessions to align stakeholders drive decisions and achieve project objectives
- Identify risks and proactively recommend mitigation strategies to ensure project success
- Support proposal development and contribute to follow-on work and growth opportunities
- Develop and assist in developing SOPs whitepapers procedure documents etc.
Team & Firm Contribution
- Model The Clearings consulting approach through leadership collaboration and accountability
- Support the development of team members through coaching and feedback
- Contribute to internal knowledge management toolkits and thought leadership
Compensation
The projected salary range for this position is between $90000 and $131000 annually. Actual compensation and starting salaries are determined by various factors including the candidates education experience knowledge skills certifications and clearance level as well as internal equity. Once at The Clearing movement through pay bands is based on performance. Base-annual salary is just one component of The Clearings total compensation philosophy and approach. - Bachelors degree
- 6 years of professional work experience including current/prior consulting experience
- Prior experience supporting the United States Department of War
- Active (or active within the past two years) Top Secret (TS) security clearance (required)
- Ability and willingness to work onsite with the client full-time (limited to no remote/hybrid flexibility) during core working hours (9am to 5pm).
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in/with:
- Business process analysis and improvement
- Implementing or supporting SharePoint solutions (configuration content management workflows) specifically using SharePoint Online in the modern view
- Implementing or supporting Microsoft 365 solutions specifically DoD365 including OneDrive Teams Exchange Online Power Apps and MS Office Suite
- Human-centered design is a plus
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including client-facing communication
- Strong attention to detail organization and time management
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous fast-paced and high-stakes client environments
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and navigating complex organizations
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without sponsorship
- Physical and Mental Requirements
While performing duties of this job an employee may be required to perform any or all of the following: attend meetings in and out of the office travel (sometimes extensively); occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand; communicate effectively (both orally and in writing); ability to effectively use computers and other electronic and standard office equipment; and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. Work is primarily sedentary and involves sitting for several hours at a time. Occasionally walking climbing stairs and standing occur in this role. Additionally this job requires certain mental demands including the ability to use judgment withstand moderate amounts of stress and maintain attention to detail.
