The Opportunity

TECKpert is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator to support our client a state transportation agency in Tallahassee FL. This role plays a key part in the agencys Office of Information Technology providing oversight management troubleshooting and execution of cloud services and platforms that support agency infrastructure applications data and other business needs. The administrator will architect design facilitate lead coordinate and direct technology initiatives across infrastructure administration cloud identity and access management security hardening and compliance.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role embedded inside the agencys IT team with daily ownership of complex multi-cloud environments (AWS Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365) alongside Windows and Linux server environments. The administrator will work directly with internal staff contractors and the State Data Center.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Support and expand the agencys infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments
• Coordinate server configuration and administration with multiple parties (State Data Center agency staff and contractors)
• Make recommendations for future server and software upgrades
• Monitor systems and applications to ensure security availability and performance
• Establish and maintain systems by evaluating network performance issues planning and executing equipment selection installation configuration and testing defining network policies and procedures and establishing connections and firewalls
• Perform systems monitoring analysis and performance tuning; troubleshoot systems and application problems; escalate to vendors as needed
• Build and manage relationships in a matrixed environment
• Identify opportunities to refactor solutions for better performance cost and efficiency
• Create and manage Azure DevOps projects Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines and oversee Azure DevOps organizational settings
• Recommend and assist with the build and hosting of complex application solutions
• Understand deploy and manage AWS Microsoft Azure and other cloud services
• Support other IT staff including developers

Compensation and Term

This opportunity is for a full-time contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $155000 per year. Medical dental vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.

Qualifications you need

A successful candidate has the following experience:

• Bachelors degree (or technical institute degree) in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field or equivalent work experience
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in information systems engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of IT work experience in infrastructure or network environments across systems operations support maintenance and administration
• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2012 Rand 2022)
• 2 to 3 years of IIS administration
• 2 to 3 years of network communications experience including TCP/IP DNS Samba/CIFS file sharing and NTFS permissions
• 2 to 3 years of strong professional experience administering AWS cloud services
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Server products
• In-depth knowledge of Linux administration on RedHat and Ubuntu including Linux patching
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across diverse technology platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced matrixed environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of professional experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
• 2 to 3 years of professional experience with other cloud providers such as Google Cloud Platform
• 2 to 3 years of professional experience in Microsoft software administration (M365 identity platforms)
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience supporting middleware such as API Management IT service automation tools and batch job services
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps projects Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency in cloud-based network architectures and multi-cloud integration patterns
