Position Overview
The Senior Case Manager / Retention Specialist provides comprehensive support to participants seeking employment and training opportunities. This role focuses on improving job readiness supporting job placement and ensuring retention and career advancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participant Services
Conduct assessments and provide individualized service plans
Support participants with job readiness job search strategies and career planning
Deliver guidance on workplace soft skills and barrier reduction
Provide ongoing follow-up job retention and wage progression support
Program Coordination
Collaborate with the Job Readiness Instructor to enhance participant outcomes
Connect participants to training employment and support services
Supervision & Leadership
Co-Assist Work Readiness Training Program staff in coordination with the Job Developer Director
Support team performance and program implementation
Program Monitoring & Compliance
Track and report on program outcomes (weekly monthly quarterly annually)
Perform quality assurance across outreach recruitment workshops and referrals
Ensure accurate data entry and documentation
Monitor compliance with contract requirements
Represent the program in meetings with funders as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in human services social work business or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
2 years of related experience in case work more specifically workforce development.
Strong communication (verbal and written) cultural sensitivity and ability to build rapport with a diverse group of individuals is essential.
Keen understanding of employment trends and career development
Must be reliable organized flexible meet deadlines and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency with database systems (e.g. Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required.
Authorization to work in the United States for any employer is mandatory
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Ability to stand walk or sit for long periods of time.
Ability to climb five flights of stairs if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork.
Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather including inclement weather if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
