Senior Accounting Consultant

Remote $50$100/hour Depending on Experience Contract

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Accounting Consultant to support a corporate private equity-backed organization. This remote consulting opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who can quickly integrate into an established finance team take ownership of key accounting functions and help drive accurate timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly quarterly and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review journal entries balance sheet reconciliations accruals and supporting schedules
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements and management reporting
• Research and resolve complex accounting and general ledger matters
• Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules
• Maintain and strengthen accounting policies procedures and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes reporting and close efficiency
• Partner with finance leadership on accounting initiatives and special projects
• Support system implementations integrations accounting cleanup and process improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field
• Progressive accounting experience within a corporate environment
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close general ledger accounting journal entries and account reconciliations
• Experience supporting audits and maintaining effective internal controls
• Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting system skills
• Ability to work independently prioritize competing deadlines and effectively partner with cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience within a private equity-backed high-growth or evolving corporate environment preferred
• CPA and/or public accounting experience preferred
• Experience with ERP implementations M&A integration or finance transformation initiatives is a plus
