Job Title: Security Guard Supervisor
Location: Transitional Housing Site Long Island City Queens
Schedule: Full-Time 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
Compensation: $22.00 per hour
Position Summary:
The Security Guard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the security personnel to ensure the safety and security of all residents staff and property at a transitional housing facility serving single adults. This role includes monitoring security operations during shifts conducting site inspections and ensuring adherence to protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the schedules and activities of security guards across all shifts.

Provide on-site leadership direction and training to security staff to maintain a safe environment.

Ensure continuous coverage of security posts and manage shift transitions.

Conduct routine site inspections and patrols to identify and respond to safety or security concerns.

Monitor cameras alarm systems and access points; respond to emergency situations promptly.

Maintain accurate and timely incident and shift reports.

Liaise with shelter management law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.

Ensure compliance with facility rules visitor protocols and emergency procedures.

Support onboarding of new security guards and ongoing performance evaluations.

Report directly to the Program Director or Director of Operations.
Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required; additional training or certifications in security or law enforcement preferred.

Valid NYS Security Guard License required.

2 years of experience in security with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Experience in residential shelter or transitional housing environments strongly preferred.

Strong communication leadership and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to work flexible hours including weekends holidays and overnight shifts.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to climb stairs conduct outdoor patrols and respond quickly in emergencies.
