Join a premier material handling and automated machinery manufacturer to kickstart your career as a Manufacturing Saw Operator. Working within a fast-paced fabrication environment you will play a critical role in the initial stages of production by prepping raw materials for advanced conveyor systems and mechanical equipment. This entry-level position offers cross-training opportunities across multiple machining disciplines to help you build a diverse technical skillset.
Execute precise cuts on mild steel stainless steel and aluminum raw materials (shafting tubing angles and structural shapes) using industrial band saws.
Interpret internal engineering drawings blueprints and production routings to ensure all fabricated components meet strict dimensional tolerances.
Operate material handling equipment safely including overhead cranes and fork trucks to move 20- to 40-foot lengths of steel.
Debur and finish all cut pieces to prepare them for the next stage of the manufacturing schedule.
Cross-train and act as a backup operator on foundational fabrication equipment including the shear brake punch drill press and ironworker.
Collaborate closely with the Fabrication Team to troubleshoot production challenges and maintain a safe efficient workspace.
Requirements
Experience: 13 years of experience in a machine shop or fabrication environment is preferred; experience in the conveyor or material handling industry is a plus.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read a tape measure accurately down to the 1/16th of an inch.
Tools & Equipment: Proficiency or willingness to learn manual and semi-automated equipment calipers hand tools and power tools.
Physical Demands: Ability to stand bend and occasionally climb for a minimum of 8 hours per day and safely lift or move up to 50 lbs.
Work Ethic: Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team structure; adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: Willingness to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
