About the Role
Our client is seeking an Associate Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) Emerging Markets to join the Outside Sales this role you will be responsible for acquiring new restaurant partnerships across assigned territories and helping expand DoorDashs presence in underserved and emerging markets.
As an aGML you will focus on driving new business growth through face-to-face sales engagements with local and regional restaurant owners. You will work closely with a Regional Sales Manager and have access to a full suite of sales resources including sales collateral gift cards business cards partnership data and market insights.
This is a highly field-oriented sales position where the majority of business is conducted in person. Success in this role requires strong prospecting relationship-building negotiation and closing skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities Territory Expansion & Business Development
Expand the clients footprint in emerging and underserved markets particularly rural and developing regions.
Identify prospect and engage local and regional restaurant owners to establish new partnerships.
Drive market growth by securing new merchant relationships and increasing clients adoption.
Sales & Negotiation
Present the value proposition of partnering with the client to restaurant owners.
Conduct face-to-face sales meetings and demonstrations.
Negotiate partnership and revenue-share agreements.
Manage a transactional sales cycle and close new business opportunities quickly.
Market Development
Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to execute territory growth strategies.
Utilize available sales tools market insights and partnership resources to maximize effectiveness.
Build scalable outreach and sales strategies tailored to local markets.
Travel
Travel extensively throughout assigned territories to meet prospective restaurant partners.
Most travel will occur within approximately two hours of the hiring location.
Some assignments may require:
Overnight hotel stays
Extended travel days (6 7 hours driving)
Occasional air travel
All approved business travel expenses will be covered by the client.
Travel activity will be monitored to ensure compliance with company policies.
Qualifications Required
2.5 years of sales experience in a closing role or related sales position.
Ability and willingness to travel frequently (50% travel required).
Strong prospecting negotiation and closing skills.
Ability to manage both inside and outside sales activities effectively.
Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
Excellent communication presentation and relationship-building abilities.
Preferred
Experience selling to SMBs (Small and Medium Businesses).
Restaurant hospitality food service or food & beverage sales experience.
Experience with face-to-face field sales and territory management.
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop strategies and playbooks for growth.
