Job Summary
We are looking for a Robotics Perception Engineer with minimum 3 years of experience to own and build the low-level sensor pipeline that powers Tutor Intelligences next-generation VLA-driven robots. Were looking for a strong software engineer who has worked hands-on with real robotic hardware (cameras LiDARs sensors actuators) and can ensure that data from a suite of six 30fps RGBD cameras and 3D LiDARs is processed accurately performantly and reliably. Youll be taking critical work directly off the lead engineers plate owning the full pipeline from sensor input to application logic and data storage. If youve worked in autonomous vehicles defense robotics or any fast-moving robotics environment and love building systems that cant afford to fail this role is for you.
- Must have experience with hardware-software integration involving robotic hardware.
- Nice-to-haves include familiarity with RGBD cameras LiDARs and SLAM systems.
- Role is onsite in Watertown MA five days a week.
- Salary range is $125000 to $200000 with competitive equity options.
- The Interview process includes a take-home challenge a Zoom interview and an onsite visit.
- Immediate focus on hiring to allow team leads to delegate responsibilities and focus on other tasks.
- Prefer candidates with startup experience who have exposure to both hardware and software integration.
- Looking for generalists who can handle a range of tasks and have a keen interest in robotics.

Has owned software integration with real robotic hardware end-to-end including debugging across sensors hardware application logic and production/runtime issues.
Experience at a sensor-heavy robotics autonomous vehicle defense robotics or field robotics company where reliability of real-world perception/sensor pipelines mattered.
Startup or small-team robotics experience where they owned messy cross-functional problems across hardware software sensors and deployment.
BS/MS in CS Robotics EE ME or related technical field from a strong technical university or equivalent hands-on robotics experience.
Proficient in C and/or Python for low-level performance-critical systems code
Hands-on experience with RGBD cameras LiDAR point clouds sensor calibration SLAM or multi-sensor robotics perception pipelines.
Comfortable using AI coding tools productively and open to AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Must be onsite 5 days/week in Watertown MA no remote option
