Job Summary

- Assists in accepting and coordinating the proper processing and separation of incoming donations outlet merchandise and salvage goods.
- Assists in coordinating used goods processing through the proper application of techniques: sorting preparing and pricing items for sale using the production processing system (PPS).
- Participates in ensuring production goals and sales goals are met or exceeded on a consistent basis.
- Assists in ensuring that store is presenting quality customer service in a timely and courteous manner to all shoppers donors and employees.
- Assists in maintaining the appearance of building interior building exterior and parking lot.
- Assists in maintaining a clean and orderly store processing area good housekeeping and work environment.
- Assists in ensuring that safety procedures are understood and followed by all staff and store employees.
- Performs necessary record keeping and reporting of money sales and production in an accurate and timely manner. This includes but not limited to the correct operation and utilization of the Point-of-Sale (POS) equipment. All issues problems or concerns with the POS system are reported immediately to the Retail Sales Executive.
- In the absence of the Store Manager and/or Assistant Manager the Shift Supervisor will supervise the staff and handle all managerial functions such as opening and closing the store properly reporting accidents incidents or any occurrences that are serious in nature keeping the safety of all clients/employees a priority.
- Enforces and effectively communicates company policies and procedures to all employees.
- Demonstrates a professional presentable appearance by adhering to Goodwills uniform policy including the visible presence of an issued nametag.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality.
- Responsible for all other duties as assigned.
- National Retail Federation (NRF) Certification within one year of job acceptance.
- If applicable current Forklift Certification at specific locations utilizing forklifts.
- Basic judgment skills to determine merchandise/donation value.
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- Advanced math skills including basic accounting and cash control procedures.
- Supports the mission and vision of Goodwill Industries of Mississippi Inc.
- Open availability.
- Ability to transfer to other working locations as directed by management.
- Maintains a valid driver license.
- Working knowledge of computers including the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Promotes and demonstrates ethical practices in all activities.
- Promotes a safe work environment and follows all CARF requirements.
- Ability to pass alcohol/drug screenings criminal background check and any insurance driving record check.
- Works in an environment with occasional high stress with potentially short deadlines.
- Stands and walks for most of the workday occasionally sits.
- Routinely bends stoops pulls pushes reaches kneels twists turns throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds in retail environment; 50 pounds in Donations/ADC/ Aftermarket environment or the ability to do so safely.
