Apprenticely is working with our company partner the Umami to add an Retail Data & Consumer Insights Intern to their team in Bentonville Arkansas!
Our Apprenticely Internship Program is a three-month program that places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas in IT positions to gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor/IT support are designed as an on-ramp to an IT career and can roll into full-time positions based on employer demand.

FIELDBOOK a studio operated by Alloy Partners is dedicated to creating and accelerating advantaged retail value chain startups. We are launching Umami out of Fieldbook Studiobacked by the Walton Family Foundation and the Arkansas Development Finance Authority (ADFA).

About the Role:

The Intern will support Umamis retail data collection and consumer insights workflows using the Clippr plugin and related internal tools. This role is ideal for someone who is detailoriented curious about CPG innovation and excited to work at the intersection of AI retail data and product development.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Capture product pricing packaging and assortment data across assigned retailers and categories

  • Maintain accuracy and consistency across large datasets

  • Identify anomalies gaps or trends during data entry and flag them for review

  • Use the Clippr plugin to scrape tag and organize retail product information

  • Execute standardized workflows to support category scans competitive benchmarking and assortment mapping

  • Ensure data is properly structured for downstream analytics and reporting

  • Assist in gathering review-based consumer sentiment data aligned with Umamis methodology (real reviews not social media)

  • Help decode consumer pain points unmet needs and competitive strengths/weaknesses

  • Support the creation of category snapshots opportunity maps and early-stage concept inputs

  • Support the preparation of internal and client-facing reports including charts summaries and insights

  • Help analyze patterns across retailers categories and consumer feedback

  • Contribute to innovation pipeline prioritization work by organizing and synthesizing data inputs

  • Collaborate with the Innovation Insights and Product teams as needed

  • Assist with ad hoc research tasks related to brand health innovation reports and opportunity sizing

  • Support internal documentation and workflow optimization

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements

  • Help maintain internal databases and knowledge repositories

  • Provide general operational support as the company scales its AI-powered product development platform

Qualifications of an ideal candidate:

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy across large datasets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau Power BI Looker Studio or similar platforms.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to identify patterns trends and inconsistencies in data.
  • Comfortable learning new software tools and technology platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and deadlines.

Additional Details:

  • Pay Range: $15/hr
  • Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Length of Internship: 3 months with the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity based on employer demand
  • Location: Bentonville Arkansas

Our Must Haves:

  • Current Arkansas state resident
  • Ability to pass a standard background check
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week following the three-month internship
  • Ability to work full-time in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
  • High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies and growing or starting your IT career
  • Technical aptitude exhibited through projects experience or online learning and the ability to communicate what you know
$15 - $15 an hour
How does the interview process work Apprenticely will conduct an initial phone interview and assessment. Apprenticely will send selected resumes to companies that match the candidates skills and interests. Our employer partners will decide who to interview and select the final candidates for the internship program.
