Join a leading environmental engineering and manufacturing organization as an on-site Reliability Engineer dedicated to supporting critical air pollution control this role you will serve as the primary technical maintenance expert and operational liaison for a major industrial facility in the Greater St. Louis area. You will optimize the performance of regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) systems ensuring equipment uptime regulatory compliance and seamless client communication.
Monitor and analyze operational data for TANN equipment including RTOs concentrators and heater boxes.
Execute mechanical and electrical troubleshooting alongside advanced vibration and thermal analysis to predict equipment failures.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) initiatives to identify system vulnerabilities and implement continuous improvement strategies.
Coordinate and oversee subcontractors during scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) windows and facility shutdowns.
Manage critical parts inventory to minimize equipment downtime and ensure rapid emergency response capability.
Interface regularly with plant leadership production teams and external contractors to communicate technical updates and daily operational status.
Generate comprehensive daily weekly and monthly reports tracking equipment health maintenance metrics and system efficiency.
Requirements
Experience: 58 years of maintenance controls or low-voltage electrical distribution experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment (automotive or chemical plant experience preferred).
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is highly preferred; high-level maintenance or electrical journeyman status is a plus.
Software/Tools: Proven hands-on experience troubleshooting control systems including PLCs SCADA HMIs motor control centers (MCCs) variable frequency drives (VFDs) and low-voltage distribution panels (480V and below).
Technical Skills: Proficiency with process instrumentation including pressure transmitters burners industrial fans and predictive maintenance tools.
Certifications: Must possess a valid drivers license; OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is highly advantageous.
Schedule & Availability: Ability to work a full-time on-site schedule with the flexibility to support off-shift emergencies weekends holidays and plant shutdown periods.
Proximity Constraint: Per site requirements candidates must reside within 3060 minutes of the facility to meet emergency response timelines.
Physical Demands: Ability to work in an active heavy industrial environment climb ladders stand for extended periods and lift or move up to 5075 lbs with assistance.
