About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Medical Oncology for a day shift opportunity in Hilo Hawaii. This role is ideal for an Oncology RN who is confident administering chemotherapy immunotherapy targeted therapy and injections while providing safe compassionate care to patients throughout their treatment journey.
Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy immunotherapy targeted therapy and injections as ordered

Access and manage port-a-caths PICC lines and Hickman catheters

Perform venipuncture lab draws and central line dressing changes

Monitor IV therapies and patient responses to treatment

Verify informed consent before chemotherapy administration

Educate patients families and caregivers on treatments side effects medications nutrition and care needs

Follow proper handling administration disposal and PPE protocols for hazardous drugs

Maintain accurate patient records and notify providers of unusual occurrences

Initiate appropriate emergency action when needed
Requirements

Active Hawaii Registered Nurse license required

Minimum 3 years Oncology nursing experience required

Chemotherapy administration experience required

Experience with ports PICC lines and Hickman catheters required

Strong knowledge of hazardous drug handling and PPE requirements

Must be proficient with oncology documentation and patient education

Must arrive the Thursday before start for employee health appointment

Holiday coverage required as needed
