Registered Nurse Cath Lab

The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization interventional radiology and related procedural interventions. This role involves patient assessment administration of medications including blood products cardiac monitoring and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse must be experienced in critical care procedures such as cardioversion defibrillation and management of specialized equipment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced high-acuity environment are essential. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

• Provide skilled nursing care during cardiac catheterization interventional radiology and procedural biopsies.
• Perform patient assessments including obtaining 12-lead EKGs and monitoring vital signs.
• Administer medications and blood/blood products safely and accurately.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as syringe pumps and cooling/warming blankets.
• Perform cardioversion and defibrillation as needed during procedures.
• Collaborate with physicians technologists and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in compliance with facility policies.
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical interventions promptly.
• Participate in on-call rotations covering one weekday and one weekend per month.

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the practicing state (including active compact license acceptance).
• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in cardiac catheterization or interventional radiology settings.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Proficiency in blood/blood product administration and cardiac emergency interventions.
• Experience with obtaining and interpreting 12-lead EKGs.

• Experience in STEMI EP Lab GI/GU/Renal procedures and peripheral vascular stent placement.
• Familiarity with procedural biopsies and interventional radiology techniques.
• Additional certifications related to cardiac or interventional nursing specialties.

• On-call requirement: minimum one weekday and one weekend per month.
• Shift hours may vary between 8 and 10 hours depending on staffing and vacation coverage.
• Travel contract eligibility requires separation of at least 3 months from any Providence/Swedish facility.
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role.

• Variable shifts including 8-hour and 10-hour rotations.
• Additional days and weekend shifts may be assigned monthly based on staffing needs.
