Job Summary
Overview
The Registered Behavior Technician for the Achievements-ABA program at the Center for Autism Services Science and Innovation (CASSI) will implement evidence-based treatment protocols under the direction of a licensed Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will support children with skill development by adhering to Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and implementing appropriate behavior management strategies/supports. This staff member will interact daily with children providing intervention to support language social cognitive adaptive and self-regulatory development. The incumbent will collect progress and treatment response data; organize the classroom; prepare teaching materials; and assist with parent communication and training.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to behavior intervention plans as developed by Behavior Analysts.
- Effectively implement behavior management strategies according to trained procedures.
- Assist in data management functions to include data collection and data entry.
- Assist in the development of therapeutic materials and activities.
- Work directly with the assigned child to support skill acquisition (i.e. language social academic and social-emotional) assist with daily living skills and medical needs (e.g. toileting hygiene meals lifting/carrying students with physical disabilities) and support behavior management.
- Promote and support peer interactions generalization of skills across settings and work to foster child independence.
- Provide for basic care needs of children during groups.
- Clean organize and maintain the classroom.
- Support planning preparation and staffing for supplemental programming
- Complete medical behavioral and other in-service training as needed.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: |
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- College equivalent coursework in Applied Behavior Science Education or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE: |
- Experience as a paraprofessional or related professional in an Early Intervention or other preschool-aged classroom or with a preschool-aged special needs population desirable.
- Previous experience as a Registered Behavior Technician in a clinic-based ABA center is preferred.
