Job Summary
You will serve as a Recreation Fee Clerk (Seasonal) in the Administrative Division.
This is a temporary position with an initial appointment limited to one year or less but may be extended for a total of 2 years. It does not confer permanent status.

Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following:
- Collect appropriate fees the park recreation fee office while providing excellent customer service and refer issues to a higher graded employee or supervisor when necessary.
- Operate an electronic cash register computer or point-of-sale (POS) system to conduct financial transactions. Perform opening and closing shift functions. Issue entrance receipts permits park passes in accordance with established guidelines. Process refunds as needed.
- Complete shift reports to verify money collected accountable stock sold and all machine transactions from the shift using shift accountability receipt tapes and register of voided transactions. Safeguard funds collected and accountable stock under the incumbents control.
- Use automated reservation systems to process routine simple payments transactions and reservations for campgrounds tours tickets backcountry permits Special Use permits etc. Systems may include but are not limited to and other automated platforms.
- Utilize fee program related technologies and equipment that include hardware software and peripheral devices such as hand-held devices computers POS equipment tablets mobile phones scanning devices AFMs and reservation systems in accordance with established guidelines.
- Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.

All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-08/03/2026-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. All candidates must also meet Time-in-Grade requirements.

To qualify for this position at the GS-04 level you must possess one of the following:
A. One year of progressively responsible clerical office or other work that demonstrates your ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of Recreation Fee Clerk. General experience for this position must include: Customer service experience experience with point of sale systems experience
using typical office equipment and software such as spreadsheet and email.

B. Two years of education above high school (60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours) leading to a bachelors degree from an accredited institution.

C. Equivalent combination of experience and education that together equal 100% of the qualification standards listed above when combined.
