ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION TITLE:

Paraprofessional: Early Start Paraprofessionals for Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program (contingent on enrollment funding and programming)

Building Principal or designee.

Work Schedule:

July 6 2026 July 30 2026 from 7:30 am-2:00 pm

DUTIES:


1. Responsible to Site Coordinator Special Education Teacher Special Education Supervisor
and Principal
2. Provide instructional assistance under the direction of the teacher to a small group or
individual student(s).
3. Responsible for providing clerical services such as preparing duplicating organizing
and distributing materials to children and other miscellaneous clerical tasks.
4. Assist in feeding during lunch and snack periods when needed.
5. Feed diaper and assist with personal hygiene as needed.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:


1. Presently employed as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Springfield Public
Schools.
2. Has not received a layoff notice.
3. Preference will be given to paraprofessionals presently working in the same program
during the academic year.
4. Preference will be given to paraprofessionals who have worked in the extended year
program to facilitate continuity of instruction and social/ emotional development.
5. Availability required for entire program work schedule.
6. Must have a secured position for the 2026-2027 school year.
