We are looking for a dedicated Radiology Clerk like you to join our Lubbock Heart team.

What You Will do in this Role:

  • Report to work area on time ready to perform his/her duties. Remains at designated work area until relieved for breaks or lunch.
  • Follow all guidelines and policies set forth in the employee handbook
  • Follow time and attendance policy for Radiology
  • Answer telephone calls within three rings saying Radiology this is (your first name) and directs calls as needed.
  • Accurately schedule exams in single and multiple modalities
  • Arrange films/CDs for pick-up and documents via Release of Information Form
  • Logs in patients with access program/logs patients in card file into access
  • Pull patient film file folders and records exam(s) on the folder or completes new folders as needed
  • Fax report etc. as needed
  • Notify appropriate staff of out-patient arrivals
  • Notify appropriate staff of pending in-patient exams
  • May assist transcription to file reports and folders when time allows
  • Check temperature in blanket warmer department refrigerator and records to their logs.
  • Maintain logs on a monthly basis saving old logs indefinitely.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventories for all supplies stored in the clean utility room
  • Verify orders available for next weekdays schedule or contacts physicians office to request orders as needed.
  • Shall assist Plant Operations Department and others as time permits
  • Report equipment problems to the Director or designee.
  • May participate in Q.C. program
  • Demonstrate initiative in their work habits while maintaining a professional demeanor with all hospital staff guests visitors patients and physicians.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • High School Education or GED.
  • Prefer two (2) years experience in a business environment.
  • Ability to act as a potential link between in-house patients and x-ray technicians.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with patients physicians physician offices technologists. nursing staff and other departments.
  • Must be Customer Service oriented: friendly professional and patient when dealing with patients and families including those that me bye anxious and/or frustrated.
  • Highly Organized
  • Accurate and attentive to details
  • Must have very strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and work in the electronic medical record.

Your Shift: 8:30am-1700

Lubbock Heart & Surgical Hospital specializes in the care of cardiac orthopedic nephrology urology and general medical patients. We are also a highly active inpatient center mainly centered on surgical procedures that include cardiothoracic orthopedic urology and general surgery. We have a 24-hour Emergency Department with 5 fully equipped ED rooms 4 fully operating OR rooms 4 cardiac catherization labs with 1 electrophysiology room 11-day surgery rooms 58 acute care beds spread over three units and 16 cardiac critical care rooms. We pride ourselves on giving the best overall care possible to our patients and on our family style atmosphere that includes everyone: patients and their families physicians and our employees.
