The Opportunity:
A Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring all dietary supplement products comply with the specificationsestablished by MeriCal and cGMPs. The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting objective & subjective measurementsand make determinations if any non-conformances occurred.A Quality Inspector works to guarantee high quality output through random sampling and testing on anythingfrom receiving in process manufacturing and finished packaged product for release. Items that do not meetspecifications are investigated and written documented corrective actions taken to ensure the issue does notoccur again.
What Youll Do:
Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices 21 CFR Part 111 117 & 211.
Ability to follow instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for the materials componentsor product.
Conducts sampling and ensures testing against appropriate methods. Sampling must be conductedappropriately using good technique and verifying against dimensional and functional specifications.
Maintain records of testing and document quantity of defective product per batch.
Collect samples for Analytical Microbial Customer and Retains as applicable and document within theappropriate quality record (batch record specification unipoint etc.).
Ability to use automated systems a plus. Enter quality data or release in ERP system under theguidance of Quality Inspector III or above.
Performs in process testing under the guidance of Quality Inspector II such as allergen ATP WaterActivity Brix Hardness Thickness Friability etc..
Verifies appropriate ID tagging & organization of staged bulk & finished goods on the production floor.
Ensure verification monitoring equipment scales metal detectors torque meter etc. is functioningcorrectly per our established SOPs.
Conduct bulk and final product acceptable quality limit AQL inspections per established SOPs. UnderQuality Inspector III or above guidance make disposition decisions as needed.
Responsible for reviewing cleaning Logs and provide verification signature to release lines.
Communicating and alerting management of any unusual occurrence and any pertinent issues thataffects raw materials production and/or packaging.
Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company safety policies and procedures.
May be required to operate forklift pallet jacks etc. if needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What Youll Bring:
Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Word Excel and other software necessary towork in the Quality Inspection Department.
Attention to detail and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to read write and effectively communicate in English.
Knowledge of or experience in proper sampling technique a plus.
Knowledge of quality standards and testing methodologies a plus.
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree (BS or BA) preferred.
Should be able to lift a maximum of 25-30 lbs. of material when needed.
