We are seeking a dynamic Purchasing Agent to join our team in the fast-paced trade show industry. This person is responsible for purchasing materials supplies and services that are needed to complete custom tradeshow exhibits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchase items maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed.
- Accurately receive and record goods in the system (NetSuite) including verification of quantities condition and proper documentation.
- Process material lists by allocating inventory to jobs ensuring materials are correctly issued and removed from inventory.
- Track purchases of hazardous materials and maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) online and in written formats.
- Ensure all purchasing documents are complete accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Monitor inventory levels by comparing system data to physical counts and resolving discrepancies.
- Partner cross-functionally to monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Assist in evaluations of vendors based on price reliability capabilities and past performance.
- Maintain accurate vendor pricing and discount records including cost history agreements and transaction details.
- Partner with the Purchasing Manager in maintaining vendor relationships and negotiating competitive pricing volume discounts and payment terms to support cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with the shop and project managers to maintain repair and replace production equipment.
- Conduct market research to identify new products and materials for exhibit fabrication and industry use.
- Monitor and order office supplies as needed.
- Serve as backup to the Purchasing Manager supporting purchasing operations and continuity of workflow.

- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven ability to negotiate with vendors.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate with many different personalities and departments.
- Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to navigate online systems including NetSuite.
- Knowledge of various construction materials.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Management or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement is required.
