Job Summary
Job Title: Proposal Writer
Worksite/Location: Rockville MD/Hybrid
The Proposal Writer will be responsible for the entire proposal lifecycle that includes but not limited to creating editing and finalizing high-quality compliant and compelling proposal content in response to federal RFPs RFIs and RFQs. Working closely with the Business Development team this role ensures all technical management and past performance volumes are persuasive and adhere strictly to solicitation instructions.
The Proposal Writer will have hands-on experience drafting compliant compelling technical and management narratives and coordinating with SMEs capture and recruiting teams.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop write and edit proposal sections (technical management past performance resumes etc.) for federal RFPs/RFIs.
- Collaborate with capture managers recruiters and SMEs to collect inputs and tailor responses.
- Ensure compliance with solicitation requirements templates and style guides.
- Participate in color team reviews and incorporate feedback.
- Maintain boilerplate libraries and reusable content repositories.
- Support graphics formatting and layout for final submission packages.
- Track opportunities and assist with proposal schedules and deliverables
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelors degree in English Communications Business or related field.
- 3-5(three-five) years of experience in federal proposal writing or technical writing.
- Strong understanding of RFP structures and compliance requirements (especially in GovCon or Health IT).
- Detailed understanding of contract vehicles terms and conditions success factors etc.
- Excellent writing editing and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint; familiarity with proposal tools (e.g. GovWin Awarded AI or similar) a plus.
- APMP Foundation certification preferred but not required.
The salary range for this position is between $100000 and $140000 depending on experience and qualifications.
