Scope Summary

The Project Manager IV - Low Voltage Systems Integrator (TDIP-112) serves as the subject matter expert responsible for driving and overseeing the design integration implementation testing and commissioning of Information Technology (IT) Special Systems and innovative technology solutions across multiple airport terminal development projects.

This position provides oversight and guidance on LAWA system integration requirements and serves as the primary IT liaison and airport/owner representative working closely with Information Management & Technology (IMT) executives system owners airline partners stakeholders contractors CBP TSA and LAWA personnel.

The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience integrating airport terminal systems including network infrastructure passenger processing systems terminal management systems baggage handling systems building automation systems lighting control systems aircraft guidance systems and ramp management systems. This individual will coordinate IT project activities across multiple terminals to ensure consistency operational readiness and successful project delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

Systems Integration Leadership

  • Serve as the primary liaison with IMT representatives responsible for directing and managing IT scope implementation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with CBP and TSA regarding IT infrastructure and integration requirements.
  • Review and validate implementation costs for IT systems and system integrations.
  • Oversee the buildout and commissioning of IT rooms network infrastructure horizontal cabling and backbone cabling systems.
  • Coordinate comprehensive migration integration and commissioning activities with contractors and IMT system owners.

Terminal Systems Integration

Lead integration workshops through deployment and final commissioning for:

  • Passenger Processing Systems
  • CCTV Systems
  • Access Control Systems (ACAMS)
  • Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS)
  • Baggage Handling Systems (BHS)
  • Public Address Systems
  • Wi-Fi Infrastructure
  • Visual Docking Guidance Systems (VDGS)
  • Emergency Notification Systems
  • Ramp Services Management Systems
  • Emerging Airport Technology Innovations

Building Systems Integration

Lead integration workshops through deployment and final commissioning for:

  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Lighting Control Systems
  • Power Metering and Control Systems
  • Conveyance Monitoring Systems
  • Facilities Management Control Systems (FMCS)
  • Central Utility Plant Systems

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Coordinate with LAWA Cybersecurity teams and contractor IT providers to ensure systems meet all security and integration requirements.
  • Develop overall planning strategies for construction activities and identify critical milestones and priorities.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with current plans specifications approved changes RFIs and submittals.
  • Coordinate shop drawing reviews material approvals mock-up approvals Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
  • Develop and execute action plans to address potential delays risks and scope changes.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with designers contractors and stakeholders.
  • Manage project closeout activities to ensure all IT documentation is completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment that exceeds industry standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

Education

Bachelors degree in one of the following disciplines or a related technical field:

  • Engineering
  • Construction Management
  • Aviation
  • Architecture
  • Planning
  • Business
  • Information Technology

Preferred Certifications

Professional licenses and certifications are highly desirable including:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Accredited Airport Executive (AAAE)
  • LEED Accreditation
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
  • Other industry-recognized certifications

Experience

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant experience preferably supporting airport or aviation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a systems integration role for airport terminal technologies.
  • Experience supporting projects valued at $100 million or greater.
  • Experience with Design-Bid-Build Design CMAR and Design-Build delivery methods.
  • Proven ability to perform successfully in a management capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of IT design and construction practices within active airport environments.
  • Understanding of LAWA change management processes for deployment of new and legacy IT systems.
  • Knowledge of LAWA USR and ASR processes and ability to identify and mitigate impacts to IT systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices standards and regulations.
