Konik is partnering with a general contractor that is seeking to add a Project Executive to lead K-12 and public-sector construction projects throughout the Midwest region. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a senior construction professional who thrives in client-facing environments enjoys mentoring teams and has a strong background delivering complex education-focused projects.
This role will provide leadership across operations project execution client development and team management while helping drive continued growth within the education construction market.
Construction Project Executive - K-12 Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee multiple K-12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Provide leadership mentorship and development support to Project Managers and operations teams
- Serve as the primary client interface and maintain strong relationships with owners architects consultants and trade partners
- Support project strategy staffing budgeting scheduling risk management and operational execution
- Collaborate with preconstruction and field leadership teams on constructability reviews budgeting scheduling and procurement strategies
- Lead business development efforts within the education and public-sector markets including presentations proposals and client relationship management
- Monitor project financial performance forecasting cost controls and profitability across assigned projects and teams
- Foster a collaborative high-accountability culture focused on quality safety client satisfaction and long-term team development
Construction Project Executive - K-12 Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering Architecture or related field
- 10 years of commercial construction project leadership experience
- 4 years of people management or operations leadership experience
- Extensive experience delivering K-12 education or public-sector construction projects
- Strong understanding of CMAR Design-Build and negotiated project delivery methods
- Experience with project management and scheduling software such as Prolog P6 Microsoft Project or similar platforms
- Strong leadership communication business development and relationship management skills
- Ability to lead complex projects and mentor high-performing teams in a fast-paced construction environment
