Job Summary
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Program Manager to support a large utility portfolio focused on Vegetation Management (VM) programs. This individual will serve as a strategic partner supporting Program Managers Finance and Operations leadership across a complex portfolio of work.
This role is heavily focused on program management operations portfolio financials forecasting process facilitation operational coordination and executive-level reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing large programs and cross-functional initiatives within utility infrastructure or operational environments.
This is not a direct people-management role; however the individual will act as a senior operational lead helping guide and support program management teams across multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Program & Portfolio Management
- Support portfolio-wide program management activities across VM programs
- Assist Program Managers with:
- Scope management
- Schedule management
- Budget oversight
- Forecasting activities
- Month-end close activities
- Analyze program cost drivers unit costs and portfolio variances
- Proactively identify portfolio risks and opportunities
Financial & Forecasting Support
- Support forecasting cycles and financial reporting
- Facilitate variance analysis and cost tracking
- Support strategic portfolio balancing activities across multiple programs
- Creatively manage funding allocations forecasting adjustments and unit distribution to support evolving operational priorities
Change Control & Governance
- Facilitate portfolio change control processes
- Coordinate movement of units and funding across programs
- Support governance reviews and documentation requirements
Operations Integration
- Build strong working relationships with Operations teams
- Participate in operational reviews and field coordination meetings
- Represent PMO/program management functions in operational discussions
- Develop strong understanding of operational workflows and program execution
Executive Reporting & Operational Reviews
- Support preparation of operating reviews catch back plans and compliance-driven deliverables
- Help facilitate recurring operational and leadership review processes
Process Improvement & Documentation
- Drive organization and standardization across PMO processes
- Support ongoing document control and records management processes
- Assist with ongoing PMO operational maturity initiatives
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Extensive program/project management experience
- Strong understanding of:
- Scope schedule and budget management
- Forecasting and financial reporting
- Risk and opportunity management
- Operational coordination
- Experience facilitating cross-functional meetings and stakeholder engagement
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced evolving environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Utility industry experience
- PG&E experience
- Vegetation Management or Wildfire Mitigation program exposure
- PMO or portfolio management experience
- Experience supporting executive-level operational reviews
Work Environment
- Hybrid role with regular presence in Oakland office
- Occasional travel to operational sites as needed
- Mileage and approved travel expenses reimbursable

Benefits & Salary:
- This position pays between $110000- $140000 annually depending on education and experience level and is an exempt position. The specific amount within this range will be influenced by the work location and various factors such as internal equity professional skills work experience and pertinent education or training.
- Benefits offered include company sponsored medical dental vision and 401(k) plan with company match. Also offered are tuition reimbursement voluntary life disability critical illness accident and hospitalization plans. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually.
- Full time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours.
- May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.
