- Part-time 80% FTE (32 hours per week)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Pediatric Clinic at Harborview offers a wide range of services including primary care well-child visits and developmental screenings breastfeeding support confidential teen services and mental health services. Same-day appointments are available for sick kids and an after-hours nurse phone line is available when you need immediate care assistance. Many of our services are available via telehealth (video visits) to save you time and reduce the need to bring your child into the clinic.
The Pediatric Clinicat Harborview was named the first Center of Excellence in Foster Care in Washington. Our pediatric team provides trauma informed care and ensures timely access to care for children in foster and kinship care in coordination with Apple Health Core Connections and Department of Children Youth & Families (DCYF).
Specialty services are also available through the Pediatric Clinic including dental screenings head injury follow-up care and access to theFoster Care Consultation addition we are pleased to provide books for children at every well check-up until the age of 5 and help keep your child safe by providing bicycle helmets and other safety supplies.
We offer interpreter services for non-English speaking families as well as assistance dealing with health insurance paperwork and problems. The Pediatric Clinic at Harborview can also make referrals to Harborviews Community House Calls program to coordinate care for immigrant and refugee families.
With generous help from King Countys Healthcare for the Homeless Network our pediatrics group provides walk-in primary care services for youth experiencing homelessness at two shelters in King County. These free services include:
Preventive health services
Sexual and reproductive health
Narcan distribution
Prescription and medication refills
Mental health care

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Triage medical information in a specific medical or surgical specialty
Schedule post-surgery diagnostic procedures and follow-up patient appointments
Act as a liaison between patients consulting physician referring physician or outside agency to coordinate patient appointments admission or surgery. Will coordinate the exchange of information either written or verbally before and after patients are seen
Coordinate anesthesia
Obtain all necessary medical records diagnostic studies pathology items etc. that are needed for patient care
Assist in scheduling new patient appointments by triaging to appropriate department and physician
Enter appointment information in online appointment system
Coordinate pre-admission tests and procedures
Schedule and ensure pre-anesthesia works-ups are completed
Utilized Epic EHR and advanced reporting tools to track analyze and report monthly physician performance against MIPS HEDIS and internal quality benchmarks
Coordinate the direct transfer of patients from outside hospitals to UWMC with physicians medical staff and Admitting
Other assigned duties
REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent
AND two years of experience in the program specialty
OR equivalent education/experience
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements such as a license certification and/or registration.
