TheCSUCollege Assistance Migrant Program(CAMP)ishousedin the Academic Advancement Centerin theDivisionofStudent Affairs.CAMPboasts a student-centered philosophy of advocacy andvalidatingseasonal agricultural workers and migrantfarmworkingbackground studentsthrough programs activitiesand services.CAMPhas threefull-time exempt professionals and4-6student staffemployeesand theProgram Assistantreportsdirectly to the CAMP Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator.We embrace equity and inclusive practices with a student-centeredlens.

POSITIONEXPECTATIONS:

Theprimaryresponsibility of theProgram Assistantis toplan andfacilitateadministrative tasks in support ofstudent-centeredprograms and events towardsrecruitmentretentionand student wellnessin a in-person services setting.These areaccomplishedby the followingexpectations:

Fall and SpringJobResponsibilities

  • AssistCAMP Coordinator with recruitmenteffortsincluding but not limited to phone banking tabling andpresenting.

  • Work with CAMP Coordinator to develop ongoing workshops andassistwith execution of the efforts

  • Communicate with other AAC programs staff and work together on student centered events

  • Assistwithacademicyear event planning and execution of campus andcommunitypartners collaborations

  • Responsible for event promotionlogisticsrelated to flyer creationsand advertisementto CAMP scholars

  • Developa digitaltrailofdocumentsfor assigned events and other job responsibilities effortsexecuted

  • Serve as coordinator for the office social media outlets includingcreation or delegation ofcontent creationand posting

  • Serve as Lead stafffor CAMP StudentselectionandtravellogisticstowardstheAnnualLeadershipNational HEP/CAMP conference

  • Assistwithassessing and evaluatingprograms andefforts and reportthematical dataanalysisofsummaryfindings

  • Understandthe programseligibility and compliance requirementsinsupporting all areas of recruitment.

  • Collaborate withfull timestaff on planning andexecutionofoffice anddepartmentstudent stafftrainingand CAMP Scholars Fall and Spring Orientations

  • Serve in the planning committee for the Northern Colorado Migrant Youth Leadership Institute

  • Serve in the planning committee fortheAcademicAdvancementCenterEnd of Year Celebration

  • Attendleadstaff meetings andassigned events programs

  • Track expenses topermitprograms operation within the AY 26-27 budget

  • Collaborate with otherCAMPstaff toidentifystudentsareas of need

  • Other duties as assignedupon capacity andavailability

Summer Responsibilities when applicable

  • Stafftheofficefront desk

  • Assist with New Student Orientation workshop presentations andinvolvement in resourcesfairtableting

  • Assist with New Student Orientation Spanish sessions

  • Conductspecialresearchprojectsrelevant to academic success andtrending best practices forstudent success

  • Assistwith interviewsselectionandonboardingprocedures ofundergraduatestudent staff

  • Serve asCAMP representativecommitteememberforthe AnnualC4EWelcomeBackEvent

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • One year of college experience from anaccreditedinstitution of higher education

  • Previousleadership or other experience in working withfirst-generationand/orunderrepresentedstudents

  • A highdegreeoforganization administrative and communication skillsas a team member

  • Ability to problem-solve think creatively and maximize available resources

  • Flexible to changing environments andhigh levelof self-direction initiativeand reliability

  • Must be available 3 to 4 days a week to performassignedduties

  • Ability to worksomenightsand weekends

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree and enrolled in a graduate degree at Colorado State University

  • Previousexperiences working with grant funded programsand event planning

  • Previousexperience with temporary agriculture and seasonal farmworkers (and their communities)

  • Fluent in Spanish

TRAININGCOMMITMENTS:

  • Historicallyonboardingor ongoingtraining beginstwoweeksbeforethe first day of each Fall and Spring Semesters.

COMPENSATION ANDCONTRACT PERIOD FORPOSITION:

This is apart-time(20 hours a week)special positionwith funding thatendsonJune 30 2027and there is apossibility of renewal depending upon ongoing funding forthispositionat a starting rate of $22per hour.Theemploymentperiod is for one full academic yearthat typically beginsinearly August and ends in mid-May fromconsecutive Fall and Spring semesters. Theemploymentperiod includes all pre-service and in-service training.When applicablesummer employment runs from the last week of May to the last week of July.
