Job Summary
Position Summary
The Mill Operator / Laborer is responsible for safely operating monitoring and maintaining mill processing equipment while performing housekeeping and general labor duties throughout the plant. This position supports safe efficient and reliable production by conducting inspections troubleshooting equipment issues maintaining clean work areas and assisting maintenance personnel as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations
- Operate and monitor milling crushing conveying pumping and processing equipment.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and complete pre-operational checks.
- Monitor process conditions and make adjustments to maintain production targets.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions leaks abnormal vibrations or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with plant startups shutdowns and operational changes.
- Record operational data readings and shift reports accurately.
Labor and Housekeeping
- Perform plant cleanup activities including shoveling hosing and removing spilled material.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas walkways platforms and stairways.
- Properly store hoses tools and equipment when not in use.
- Dispose of trash and debris in designated areas.
- Assist with sump cleaning screen changes and other operational support tasks.
