Job Summary

Job Overview

As a PCT on the PostâSurgical Unit youll support nurses in caring for patients recovering from orthopedic general urology bariatric gynecology and other surgical procedures. Youll assist with hygiene mobility vital signs documentation and provide compassionate care during early recovery. This role requires attention to detail strong communication and the ability to support patients physically and emotionally after surgery.

What Youll Do

  • Assist with bathing oral care toileting and linens
  • Support safe mobility repositioning and transfers
  • Monitor and record vital signs
  • Document patient information accurately
  • This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations
  • Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

About the PostâSurgical Unit

The PostâSurgical Unit is a 22âbed department caring for patients recovering from orthopedic general surgery urology bariatric gynecology plastic and oral/maxillofacial procedures. The team works closely with surgeons therapy services dietitians and wound care specialists to support physical mental and emotional recovery after surgery.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Completion of required PCT classes for the unit
