Position Specific Description
EverBright a subsidiary of NextEra Energy Resources is seeking an experienced attorney in its Houston office for its residential solar business to handle customer complaints and disputes and advise the company on issues related to the residential solar business. The role will include drafting and negotiating responses to legal inquiries and claims managing responses to regulatory inquiries government investigations consumer protection complaints and Attorney General matters and providing legal and commercial guidance to business leaders.
The attorney will oversee compliance with all legal requirements related to consumer protection issues including state and federal requirements governing residential solar transactions financing arrangements marketing practices disclosures collections and customer communications and will assess regulatory developments to advise business stakeholders on compliance risks and operational implementation.
The attorney will serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders byidentifyinglegal and regulatory risks developing mitigation strategies and supporting operational decision-making and should be able to handle multiple matters concurrently. The attorney will also handle tasks such as drafting contracts and managingvendorand other agreements related to the residential solar business. The candidate should ideally have a background in litigation and experience in consumer finance consumer protection commercialtransactionsandregulatory compliance. Experienceinresidentialsolar and energy industries is strongly preferred. This attorney willparticipatein complex legal matters and projects and delivertimelyand quality legal services to clients with minimal supervision.

Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership

Member in Good Standing of State Bar
High School Grad / GED
Juris Doctorate
Bachelors Degree
