Position Title: Prevention Specialist

Employment Type/Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week

Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm subject to change

  2. Employee demonstrates a commitment to delivering quality service to all agency affiliates partners community members and individuals seeking assistance from Safe Berks and does so in a manner that is in line with agency values of safety respect empowerment education and hope. Employee displays a team-based approach to work and is always willing to pitch-in to complete the work of the department.

  4. Employee maintains respectful relationships and interactions with other employees management donors board members community members clients and survivors. They conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates integrity and a commitment to the organizations mission. Employee always fosters open communication and is responsive to community partners donors co-workers and management through means of email text and phone calls.
  5. Essential Skills Standard
  6. Employee has strong time management skills which are essential to the work of in-direct staff and staff facilitating programming to third parties. They accurately estimate the time required to complete a task and sequences tasks appropriately to meet assigned deadlines. Employee displays timeliness in the management of projects and when unable to meet a deadline the employee seeks assistance from team members and/or their supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to the following):

  1. Develop and implement an agency evaluation plan for prevention programming. Collect review and maintain data required by funders for program reports and monthly/quarterly reports.
  2. Attend training state coalition meetings and professional development opportunities regarding prevention of sexual violence training and programming.
  3. Review prevention curriculum and programming to ensure Safe Berks is using the most up-to-date versions.
  4. Stay up to date on research-based sexual violence prevention strategies programs and media development.
  5. Coordinate and implement the execution of prevention programming to various populations of all ages within the Berks County community.
  6. Deliver in-person and virtual community education initiatives/activities.
  7. Attend community/tabling events to provide outreach and information regarding Safe Berks services.
  8. Cultivate new and/or strengthen existing community partnerships as it pertains to implementing prevention programming.
  9. Assist supervisor in meeting requirements of all grant-related projects.
  10. Maintain all necessary records and files related to prevention programming.
  11. Assist with maintaining program equipment and supplies.
  12. All other duties as determined by department director.

Requirements

Requirements:

Employment Experience (amount and kind)

  • 3 5 years experience working in an educational setting or human services field(s)

Education (general level required or specific courses)

  • Associates degree in Education Social Work Gender Studies or related Human Services subject preferred but will consider relevant employment experience in lieu of degree
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree required

Other Requirements:

  • Completion of a background check request; FBI State Police and Child Abuse Clearances obtained within required timeframe under Act 153 through agency vendor
  • Successful completion of required Advocate Training provided by agency
  • Valid drivers license current vehicle registration acceptable driving record and PA Minimum Liability insurance coverage of $15000 Bodily Injury per person / $30000 Bodily Injury per accident and $5000 Property Damage or $35000 Combined Single Limit if your position requires operating a personal or organization owned vehicle.
