Postdoctoral Research Associate Structures and Textiles

General Summary of Position:

Postdoctoral position to oversee project to develop electrical connectors for e-textiles including organizing and leading team meetings performing tests organizing and acquiring needed machinery and writing reports.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Report Preparation and Writing (15%)
2. Testing and Analysis (75%)
3. Laboratory Organization including preparation and revision of SOPs laboratory organization tasks and training (10%)

MINIMUM Qualifications (Required):
Education:

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or another related field (e.g. Aerospace Engineering Electrical Engineering) by time of appointment

Experience:

• Minimum five years of experience (including MS and PhD. research experience) in research.

Skills:

• Knowledge of electrical testing
• Motivation and self-direction
• Exemplary problem-solving as well as written and oral communication skills
• Eligibility to work legally in the United States
• A track record of scholarly research
• Ability to work with the research team which includes undergraduate and graduate students
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.

Additional Considerations:

• Expertise in mechanics experience setting up and running laboratory tests and program management

This position is full-time benefited and in the Grace union. Anticipated salary based on the PD range minimum: $th quartile of $56500 and midpoint of $63000.

This position is contingent upon funding and is funded for 5.5 monthscontingent on productivity successful performance and the availability of funding. This position may be extended based on these contingencies.
