Policy Manager

Job Description

The Policy Manager reports to the Vice President for Policy & Governance and serves as a key resource for the universitys policy development and governance processes. The position provides consultation and guidance to the university community on administrative and academic policy development tracks the lifecycle of university policies through the shared governance system and coordinates the University Policy Advisory Committee.

The Policy Manager is responsible for the centralized management maintenance and communication of university policies ensuring consistency clarity accessibility and alignment with best practices regulatory requirements and institutional priorities. The position exercises significant independent judgment.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in public administration political science higher education or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in policy research writing development governance compliance or a related field; experience within higher education is preferred.
Excellent organizational analytical interpersonal editing and written and oral communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously meet deadlines and exercise sound judgment.
Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn shared governance structures and processes.
High level of professionalism and ability to work effectively with senior leaders faculty and staff across the institution.

Preferred Qualifications

Terminal degree in public administration higher education or related field or experience equating to terminal degree.
Experience working with institutional policy management systems or workflow tools.
Knowledge of national best practices in higher education policy governance.
Experience developing training or professional development materials.
Familiarity with web-based content management and digital communication platforms.
