Train under the Master Plumber to maintain the flow and drainage of water air and other gases by assembling installing and repairing pipes fittings and plumbing fixtures district wide and maintains and provides for the safe condition and operation of all plumbing systems in district facilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification Requirements
High school graduate or GED equivalent
Valid Texas Drivers License insurable with Judson ISD insurance carrier and a good driving record
Acquire appropriate state license as required by state (within timelines set forth by Master Plumber).
Backflow license required and must be obtained within 6 months of employment
Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of plumbing repairs maintenance installation techniques and hot water circulating systems
Knowledge of plumbing codes
Ability to read and interpret blueprints diagrams schematics and written reference material
Ability to perform mathematical calculations
Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
Ability to use hand and power tools to include backhoe
Experience:
Minimum two (2) years of experience in maintenance field
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Comply to District directives and Maintenance Policies and Procedures and follows safety procedures
Assemble install maintain all pipes fittings fixtures of heating water drainage sprinkler and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes
Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicted or according to work orders
Install and repair pipes fittings valves fixtures and plumbing system equipment including sinks commodes water heaters water softeners backflow prevention etc
Receive and complete work orders
Respond to emergency after hour plumbing calls for district facilities
Keep all tools and equipment clean and in working order
Inspect jobs upon completion and ensures areas are clean
Perform overtime as required and authorized
Maintain accurate records on material and labor
Coordinate and review all contracted service work for major plumbing repair projects
Perform appropriate pressure test on water and gas lines
Work with building Principals and supervisors to complete projects
Detect needed repairs on buildings grounds and equipment following established inspection procedures
Perform rough in and pipe fabrication for repair and new installations
Perform repairs and possesses knowledge of irrigation systems
Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting climbing etc.
Correct unsafe conditions in work area and reports any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately
Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs
Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
Ability to use personal computer to access district programs emails and other resources
Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance
Ensure compliance with the Texas Educators Code of Ethics
Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job

Occasional: Lifting heavy 45 pounds or more
Environmental Factors:
Ability to work inside/outside in temperature extremes slippery surfaces noise chemical exposure (asbestos fumes vapors gases dust smoke etc.); works around moving machinery with moving parts moving objects or moving vehicles; works alone and may experience unusual fatigue
Works around gas lines
Frequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold) humidity extremes noise low or intense illumination vibration
Work outside work around moving objects or vehicles work on uneven surfaces
Work alone work prolonged or irregular hours
