Job Summary
This position operates under the direction of the Town Manager and is responsible for planning organizing directing integrating and coordinating all Town of Orange Planning and Community & Economic Development initiatives and activities.
The Planning Director shall also conduct investigations make studies surveys and plans and disseminate information relative to planning economic development and community development including but not limited to desirable patterns for land-use and community growth downtown revitalization and economic development. The Planning Director is responsible for assuring all information flows smoothly to all departments and committees involved in grant and planning activities and will work closely and collaboratively with other departments.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree in planning land use community/economic development or a related field; five years experience in professional planning preferably in local government; strong citizen participation; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
American Institute of Planner Certification (AICP) a plus.
