Pharmacy Technician Oncology and Infusion

Job Summary
Join Trinity Health Of New Englands Pharmacy team and play a vital role in supporting safe accurate and timely medication distribution for Oncology and Infusion therapy patients. . Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in processing medication orders preparing medications managing inventory and ensuring patients receive the medications they need. Tier III technicians may also prepare sterile IV medications and chemotherapy products under pharmacist supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately prepare package and distribute medications for inpatient care areas
Refill and maintain automated dispensing cabinets (Pyxis) including medication loading inventory management and troubleshooting
Process and prioritize medication orders including urgent STAT requests
Prepare sterile IV admixtures and chemotherapy medications using aseptic technique
Deliver medications and supplies to nursing units and patient care areas
Maintain medication inventory stock pharmacy work areas and assist with drug order receiving and storage
Conduct medication storage inspections and support regulatory compliance initiatives
Maintain accurate records related to medication use inventory and charges
Collaborate with pharmacists nurses physicians and other healthcare professionals to support exceptional patient care
Follow all hospital pharmacy and regulatory policies to ensure medication safety and operational excellence
Qualifications
Minimum 6 months of sterile IV compounding and chemotherapy preparation experience required
Current Pharmacy Technician registration/licensure or Pharmacy Intern license required
National certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)--if not already obtained-- is required within 1 year
