We are seeking an experienced Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) to provide clinical and technical pharmacy support under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. This position is based in a high-volume community and outpatient discharge pharmacy and involves prescription preparation medication dispensing support inventory management insurance processing and patient-facing pharmacy services.
The Pharmacy Technician will also support the hospitals Meds-to-Beds (bedside medication delivery) program to help ensure patients receive prescribed medications prior to discharge.
- Accurately prepare package and label medications including oral topical and routine prescriptions for pharmacist verification.
- Support the Meds-to-Beds / bedside discharge medication program by preparing and coordinating medications for patients before discharge.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy inventory including receiving medication orders monitoring expiration dates and maintaining proper storage.
- Use the EPIC pharmacy system to manage patient profiles process prescriptions document medication fulfillment and adjudicate insurance claims.
- Provide professional and patient-focused service at the pharmacy pickup counter and drive-thru.
- Assist with medication-related workflows while working under pharmacist supervision.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe pharmacy environment.
- Follow all applicable hospital policies Oregon State Board of Pharmacy regulations and medication safety requirements.
- Oregon Pharmacy Technician License: Must have a current active and unencumbered Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license at the time of submission.
- License Verification: Candidates must provide valid state license verification. Applications without license verification will not be considered.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Drug Screening: Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a mandatory pre-employment drug screening.
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician vocational or training program.
- Previous experience in retail pharmacy outpatient hospital pharmacy community pharmacy or bedside discharge/Meds-to-Beds programs.
- Experience with EPIC pharmacy systems is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail medication safety organization and patient service skills.
