PCT (Patient Care Tech)

Job Title: Patient Care Technician (PCT) Stepdown/PCU
Location: Bronx NY

Assignment: 13 Weeks 37.5 hrs/week

Shift & Schedule:

• Night Shift
• 8-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required

Seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support patient care in a fast-paced Stepdown/Progressive Care Unit (PCU). Ideal candidates should have strong acute care experience excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work with high-acuity patients transitioning from ICU-level care.

• Obtain and document vital signs
• Provide A.M./P.M. patient care and assistance with ADLs
• Perform EKGs bladder scans and blood glucose checks
• Monitor patient outputs and assist with patient care needs
• Restock supplies and assist nursing staff with unit operations
• Support safe and efficient patient care in a stepdown setting

• Post-ICU patients
• Post-stroke and post-cardiac arrest patients
• CHF pneumonia respiratory failure and critical care stepdown patients
• Patients requiring telemetry monitoring and higher-acuity observation

• Minimum 1 year of acute care PCT experience
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) via NHA required
• Strong communication and patient care skills

• 36-bed Stepdown/PCU unit
• Centralized telemetry monitoring
• Holiday rotation may apply
• No call requirements
