Paving Screed Operator

Our client is looking for a Paving Screed Operator who will be responsible for operating and controlling the screed on an asphalt paving machine to ensure a smooth even and properly compacted surface. This role requires precision attention to detail and coordination with the paving crew to meet project specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the screed controls on an asphalt paver to regulate depth width and smoothness of the asphalt mat
• Adjust screed settings to maintain proper grade slope and crown according to project plans
• Monitor asphalt material flow and temperature to ensure consistent paving quality
• Coordinate with the paver operator roller operators and ground crew for efficient workflow
• Perform routine checks and minor maintenance on screed equipment
• Identify and correct surface irregularities during paving operations
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Read and interpret project plans grade stakes and specifications
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 2 years of experience operating paving equipment specifically screeds
• Strong understanding of asphalt paving processes and materials
• Ability to read grade stakes blueprints and layout drawings
• Valid drivers license (CDL preferred but not always required)

• Ability to work outdoors in hot cold and noisy environments
• Must be able to bend stoop and climb onto equipment

This role is based in Bowmansville PA and is an on-site role.
