Job Summary
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Licensure: None
Experience: Minimum of 1 year medical/clerical experience involving customer service required.
Certifications:
Other: Skills Knowledge and Abilities: Proficiency in computers typing and Microsoft Office. Most possess excellent customer service skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to interact with customers of all ages in a tactful and pleasant manner. Knowledge of medical terminology.
Skills Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledgeable in practices involving patient scheduling/pre-authorization/pre-certification/referral process and coordination of other services related to insurance verification.
Basic knowledge of self-pay collections medical terminology ICD10 and/or a functional understanding of insurance is preferred.
Requires excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a complex environment with varying points of view.
Must be comfortable with ambiguity exhibit good decision making and judgment capabilities attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and can interact on a professional level with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Experience: 2 years combined experience in prior authorization and scheduling.
Preferred Certifications:
Preferred Other: Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.
