Baystate Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT)to join our WETU Department teamatBaystate Medical CenterinSpringfield Massachusetts. Our WETU team provides care to a diverse adult patient population working closely with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe compassionate high-quality care.

Patient Care Technician Responsibilities Include:

• Patient Care & Monitoring: Provides safe age-appropriate care; obtains and documents vital signs measurements intake/output and changes in patient condition; promptly reports concerns to the appropriate clinical team member.

• Clinical Procedures & Testing: Performs approved treatments and procedures including dressing changes specimen collection EKGs Point-of-Care testing and other unit-specific clinical functions in accordance with Baystate Health policies.

• Treatment & Provider Support: Assists nurses and providers with examinations treatments procedures elimination needs and other delegated patient care activities; monitors patients and reports unexpected changes.

• Communication & Teamwork: Communicates respectfully and effectively with patients families and the healthcare team; recognizes culturally based needs and supports both clinical and non-clinical team activities.

• Patient Safety & Emergency Response: Maintains patient safety initiates appropriate emergency procedures provides one-to-one patient observation when required and maintains required clinical competencies.

• Weekend Requirement:Weekend Rotation
