Patient Care Associate I (MedSurg)

SIGN ON/ RETENTION BONUS -Totaling $3000 for Full-Time Patient Care Associates

*Bonus Eligible* Department: Level 1 One Med/Surg

Work Hours: Four shifts per week 2 - 12s and 2 - 8s days and evenings every other weekend and holidays as required.

Basic Function: Provides direct patient care appropriate to age culture and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks such as dressing bathing feeding toileting vital signs catheter care answering call lights assisting with ambulation turning and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG setting up respiratory equipment glucometer monitoring bladder catheterization and transcribing orders when indicated.

Qualifications:

Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent bedside manner and customer service & computer skills. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred:

Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion). Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school. Previous nursing assistant experience CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant). BCLS certification.
