Patient Access Specialist, 16 hours Bi-Weekly, Weekends Sat & Sun- 3pm-1130pm

MAIN FUNCTION: Emergency Room Registration: Responsible for the performance of all registration/pre-registration functions at all Patient Access intake points of entry. Communicates with patients families physicians and insurance companies to obtain information and insurance verification through electronic verification system and to assure quality patient care an collection of co-pays and deductibles if applicable. Interviews and registers patients. Provides other registration support as required.

Hours: Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) 3pm-11:30pm

EDUCATION: High school graduation or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:Strong medical terminology skills are required. One year related health care experience. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge and utilization of equipment used. Proficient use of hospital registration and support systems. Excellent customer service skills professional and courteous behavior to ensure a positive image with the community served and to promote customer satisfaction. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. ability to work as a member of a team.
