Part Time School Nurse

Position: Part-Time School Nurse (District-Wide)
Location: Various Schools throughout the McKeesport Area School District
Employment Status: Part-Time (Hourly)

The McKeesport Area School District is seeking qualified caring and dependable nursing professionals to provide health services and support to students throughout the district. This flexible part-time position will serve multiple school buildings as needed to promote student health and safety while supporting the daily operations of each schools health office.

• Provide first aid and nursing care to students and staff.
• Assess student health concerns and respond appropriately to illnesses injuries and emergencies.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies.
• Assist with the care and monitoring of students with chronic medical conditions.
• Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.
• Conduct health screenings and assist with state-mandated health requirements as assigned.
• Communicate effectively with parents/guardians healthcare providers and school personnel regarding student health needs.
• Assist with communicable disease prevention and health education initiatives.
• Support school emergency response procedures.
• Travel to various district schools based on staffing needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

• Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
• Current CPR/AED certification.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff.
• Current Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Child Abuse Clearance and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.

• Hourly rate based on credentials (RN or LPN) in accordance with the district-approved pay schedule.

• Part-time as assigned.
• Flexible hours based on district needs.
• Assignments may be at any McKeesport Area School District school or program.
